About This Wine
We take pride in our long-standing relationships with our growers, and love that we can share that pride with you through the Grower Series wines. This year the Pelissa family is marking their 120th anniversary of farming in the Napa Valley. Our first contract for these grapes was signed by Guy Devaux when he established the brand, and the Pinot Meunier from Block House vineyard was the first pick into the newly built Mumm Napa winery in 1988.
Today, farming is led by the 5th generation of grape growers and five different varieties are grown for our sparkling wines, including our only source of Pinot Blanc. This blend is comprised of all five varieties: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, Pinot Gris, and Pinot Blanc. It’s exciting to be able to show such quality across all the varieties!
In making this wine, we fermented the juice in stainless steel tanks to highlight the bright fruit aromas, keeping the different varieties separate. We then blended a portion of each to allow the grapes to complement each other. The blend was aged three years on the yeast for added complexity and toastiness. We hope you’ll join us in raising a glass to a rich legacy of family farming.

Profile
This lovely wine opens with notes of brioche and lemon curd, followed by crisp red apple, yellow nectarine, and raspberry. The rich texture and frothy mousse lead into a creamy mid-palate with flavors of red apple and nectarine. The long finish is accented by juicy orange and a pleasant nuttiness.
Occasions & Pairings
This wine would pair nicely with a wedge of Camembert and some crusty French bread. It would also be lovely with seared scallops over late summer veggies or a buttery lobster roll.
