A Word From Our Winemaker

Greetings Mumm Napa family,

Springtime in Napa feels magical. The vines are showing off their lush, new growth, the days are longer, and the sunshine feels like a warm hug. When you walk out into a vineyard or park and close your eyes, the buzzing of insects and cheerful birdsong remind you to slow down and appreciate the beauty of the season.  At the winery, we have our own buzzing activity.  It’s bottling season, and we’re all busy tucking away our 2025 blends for their transformative second fermentation.

Spring is a time for new beginnings, I’m excited to introduce our very first wine from Oregon! In the spirit of our founding winemaker, Guy Devaux, who chose Napa as the perfect spot for making sparkling wines, we’re always looking for great sparkling wine terroirs. In 2021, we ventured into Oregon, where the beautiful cool climate shaped the delicate fruit flavors and smooth tannins in this unique wine. We chose an Extra Brut dosage to highlight these qualities and let the elegant beauty of the Oregon terroir shine. It has a beautiful toastiness and long finish, and I can’t wait to enjoy it with oysters!

You’ll find a mini Mumm Napa tote bag tucked into your shipment. It’s the perfect size to pack a stylish lunch or fill with cheese and other nibbles for an impromptu picnic – cold bubbles included, of course! As always, we hope you enjoy your wines and thank you for being a treasured part of the Mumm Napa family.

Cheers!

Brut Prestige

Apple, stone fruit and bright citrus with subtle notes of marzipan and toast

This Blanc de Noirs is a gorgeous white sparkling wine made from red Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier grapes. Fresh aromas of raspberry, nectarine, and mandarin are complemented by a delicate toastiness in this lovely sparkling wine.

This wine is all about the toast. Aromas of grilled bread, cherry, nectarine, and juicy orange invite you for a sip of this exquisite sparkling wine.

The grapes were carefully picked and pressed using the same methods we use for our Napa wines. Oregon’s cool climate is showcased through bright acidity and delicate fruit in this exquisite extra brut sparkling wine.

Blanc de Blancs translates to “white of whites,” meaning we use only white grapes to make this wine. We picked the grapes for this Blanc de Blancs by hand during the cold morning hours to ensure they arrived in pristine condition.

Blanc de Blancs translates to “white of whites,” meaning we use only white grapes to make this wine. For the 2016 vintage, we made a blend of 100% Chardonnay.

We take pride in our long-standing relationships with our growers, and love that we can share that pride with you through the Grower Series wines. The Ghisletta family came to the United States from Switzerland in the late 1800s and have been farming in Napa for over 100 years, first in dairy and now in wine. Ghisletta Vineyard Chardonnay has been part of Mumm Napa blends for three decades. We’re pleased to release this gorgeous Blanc de Blancs that is a true reflection of place and family tradition.

Superb red sparkling wines are relatively rare. Achieving the correct balance between the depth and flavor of a full, complex red wine and the elegance associated with méthod traditionelle wines requires true talent. We have achieved this with the Sparkling Pinot Noir, a wine that first debuted to great acclaim at the Napa Valley Vintner’s Association Trade Barrel Auction in February 1997.
