A Word From Our Winemaker
Greetings Mumm Napa family,
It’s hard to believe it’s already the end of summer, and with it, the end of another harvest. This year marked my 25th harvest at Mumm Napa, starting with my internship back in 2002. Time really does fly! I have learned a great many things along the way, but the most important is the value of teamwork. It’s teamwork that makes for a successful harvest, and I look forward to sharing 2026 blends with you in a few years.
In this shipment, I’m particularly excited about the new 2022 Devaux Ranch release. This lovely blend of all four varieties we grow on the ranch both highlights the fruit and delights the palate with a rich toastiness. I’m planning to serve it on Thanksgiving alongside the Sparkling Pinot Noir, but I’ll also stock up with a few extra bottles because I won’t be able to wait that long.
You’ll also find a special Mumm Napa cutting board tucked into your shipment. I just love small boards like this for a mini cheese snack – perfect with a glass of bubbles and a movie! They’re also great for road trips. We keep a picnic kit with a cutting board and cheese knife in the car, ready for discoveries along the way. I hope you find it as handy as I do!

Sparkling Pinot Noir
Blend: 100% Pinot Noir
This wine opens with rich, juicy notes of plum, blackberry, and black cherry. On the palate, a frothy mousse leads to powerful fruit characters of blueberry, plum, and blackberry jam with a hint of dark chocolate on the finish.

2022 Devaux Ranch Brut
Blend: 55% Pinot Noir, 33% Chardonnay, 8% Pinot Gris, 4% Pinot Meunier
Aromas of peach, raspberry, and Fuji apple are complemented by notes of freshly baked bread. On the palate, a frothy mousse highlights gorgeous toasty notes from the yeast aging and a powerful, apple-focused finish.
2022 Trio C Vineyards Brut
Blend: 58% Chardonnay, 42% Pinot Noir
Juicy aromas of tangerine, red apple, strawberry, and nectarine are accented by delicate biscuit notes. A pleasant mousse highlights ripe orange and berry notes, leading into a creamy mid-palate and crisp, dry finish.
2021 Sparkling Musqué Clone Blanc de Blancs
Blend: 100% Chardonnay
This wine opens with aromas of lime, pear, biscuit, and a subtle citrus blossom note. The palate sparkles with flavors of green apple, kaffir lime leaf, and a hint of pineapple. The beautifully balanced acidity leads to a long, elegant finish with just enough biscuit character for added complexity.
2018 DVX
Blend: 52% Pinot Noir, 48% Chardonnay
This complex wine has rich aromas of toasted bread, brandied cherries, vanilla, red apple, baking spice, and orange marmalade. The vibrant mousse leads to a creamy mid-palate with notes of toasted bread and roasted nuts, carrying into a long, powerful finish.
2017 DVX Rosé
Blend: 51% Pinot Noir, 49% Chardonnay
This wine greets with aromas of yellow peaches, strawberries and cream, juicy orange, and pleasant, toasty notes. The toastiness is evident on the attack and leads to notes of cherry, orange, stone fruit, and strawberry jam. This is a well-structured wine that should age well.
2017 DVX
Blend: 52% Chardonnay, 48% Pinot Noir
Toasted bread and baking spice aromas are complemented by red apple, Bing cherry, and yellow plum. A fine mousse opens into a creamy mid-palate with notes of grilled bread, red apple, and stone fruit, leading to a long, structured finish.
2018 DVX Rosé
Blend: 53% Pinot Noir; 47% Chardonnay
Notes of grilled bread and baking spice greet you on the nose, followed by lovely strawberry, black cherry, red apple, and orange zest aromas. On the palate, a frothy mousse leads into a creamy mid-palate with a pleasant toastiness. Flavors of strawberries and cream and a hint of nectarine carry into the elegant finish.
2020 Sparkling Cabernet Sauvignon
Blend: 97% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Chardonnay
Toasty biscuit aromas lead into notes of dried fig and plum, with hints of dried herbs. On the palate, the wine opens with fig, red apple, and roasted hazelnut. The refreshingly bright acidity carries into a long, toasty finish.
2016 Blanc de Blancs Reserve Extended Tirage
Blend: 100% Chardonnay
This wine is all about toastiness, a result of the extended aging time. Toasted bread notes lead into bright lemon and tangerine citrus with a little golden apple. On the palate, a frothy mousse and creamy mid-palate carry into a long, toasty finish that shows off the aging characters.

The grapes were carefully picked and pressed using the same methods we use for our Napa wines. Oregon’s cool climate is showcased through bright acidity and delicate fruit in this exquisite extra brut sparkling wine.

This Blanc de Noirs is a gorgeous white sparkling wine made from red Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier grapes. Fresh aromas of raspberry, nectarine, and mandarin are complemented by a delicate toastiness in this lovely sparkling wine.
Blanc de Blancs translates to “white of whites,” meaning we use only white grapes to make this wine. We picked the grapes for this Blanc de Blancs by hand during the cold morning hours to ensure they arrived in pristine condition.
Each year we honor our founding winemaker, Guy Devaux with a special blend to highlight the vintage. The 2016 harvest was early, with nice, warm days for flavor development. Wines from this vintage are marked by elegance and fine structure.
Blanc de Blancs translates to “white of whites,” meaning we use only white grapes to make this wine. For the 2016 vintage, we made a blend of 100% Chardonnay.
We take pride in our long-standing relationships with our growers, and love that we can share that pride with you through the Grower Series wines. The Ghisletta family came to the United States from Switzerland in the late 1800s and have been farming in Napa for over 100 years, first in dairy and now in wine. Ghisletta Vineyard Chardonnay has been part of Mumm Napa blends for three decades. We’re pleased to release this gorgeous Blanc de Blancs that is a true reflection of place and family tradition.
