About This Wine

We take pride in our long-standing relationships with our growers, and love that we can share that pride with you through the Grower Series wines. In 2018, we chose to highlight a blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from Rodgers Vineyards. The Rodgers family has been farming in Napa for 6 generations, and has farmed the Oak Knoll District ranch from which we sourced this fruit for over 80 years. It’s a fantastic site for growing sparkling grapes, with rich soil and a climate that allows for beautiful flavor development. This gorgeous fruit has been part of our Mumm Napa blends for more than 30 years. In making this wine, we fermented the juice in stainless steel tanks to highlight the bright fruit aromas, keeping the Chardonnay and Pinot Noir separate. We then blended a portion of each to allow the two grapes to complement each other. The blend was aged three years on the yeast for added complexity and toastiness. Profile

This wine opens with notes of berries and cream, zesty orange, red apple, and peach, with a pleasant biscuit note from the yeast aging. On the palate, the frothy mousse complements bright strawberry and apple flavors. A toasty mid-palate leads to a creamy finish with bright acidity.

Occasions & Pairings

This wine would pair nicely with macadamia crusted halibut or mahi mahi. It would also be lovely served as part of a weekend brunch with friends and family.
