Letter B by Brancott Estate is a complex and textural Sauvignon Blanc that exhibits intense passionfruit, white peach, and guava characters.
Until the 1970s, Marlborough was just another pretty pocket of New Zealand, considered too cold for anything but sheep grazing. But at Brancott Estate, they’ve always loved a challenge. Their founders went against the grain to create Marlborough's first ever Sauvignon Blanc, changing the face of the region forever. Named in honor of iconic vineyards in Marlborough, the Letter Series wines are hand-crafted from grapes of the highest quality to reflect not only the flavors of the region, but also the fine art of winemaking. The goal; a perfect harmony of aroma, flavor, structure and body.Download Fact Sheet
The Southern side of the Wairau Valley, where the Brancott Vineyard is situated, is characterized by older, more structural soils with higher clay content that are still well-draining. The Sauvignon Blanc used for this wine was harvested between the 5th and 9th of April, 2016.
13% of the fermentation took place in French Oak. All components were left on skins until blending occurred, encouraging not only some lees complexity in the final blend, but further enhancing the texture of the wine.
Though made to drink while young and vivacious, this wine can be cellared for up to three years to develop further complexity.Download Fact Sheet
