2017 DEVAUX RANCHMUMM NAPA SPARKLING WINE

This wine has lovely aromas of green apples, citrus, pear, and biscuit, with a hint of minerality. On the palate, the delicate mousse and crisp acidity lead into flavors of green apple and a delicate toastiness, with a long, citrusy finish.

Devaux Ranch, our estate vineyard in Carneros, sits on 110 acres of rolling hills and is named for our founding winemaker, Guy Devaux. The vineyard is planted is planted with the three varietals traditionally used to make French champagne—Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier—as well as Pinot Gris, our Napa Valley twist. Each year we create a single vineyard blend that expresses the best of that particular vintage. The blend changes year to year, but the unique character of the vineyard always shines through. For the 2017 vintage, this exquisite Blanc de Blancs highlights the elegance of Chardonnay.

This wine pairs beautifully with fresh seafood like Dungeness crab, shrimp, or oysters—or with fresh goat cheese on crostini. It’s also a lovely aperitif to start a special evening.
